Recognising the emergence
of the Indian MNC, CII has launched the programme
- India Inc. Going Global - to create an ecosystem
which can accelerate the creation of multinational
corporations from India.
Led by an initial set of companies, including
Asian Paints, Bharat Forge, ICICI Bank, Infosys
Technologies, Mahindra & Mahindra, McKinsey
& Company and Prof. Tarun Khanna, Jorge Paulo
Lemann Professor, Harvard Business School, a Core
Set has been established. This Core Set will act
as the governing body for running this programme,
under the aegis of CII.
The programme aims at creating a sustainable ecosystem
comprising CII, global Indian companies, emerging
multinational corporations, strategic consulting
firms and knowledge partners in academia, through
a focused service, drawing on the expertise of
its different members.
The primary value of the programme is derived
from its ability to bring in 'experiential expertise'
of successful companies, a network of relevant
relationships and providing a forum for learning,
sharing and addressing common challenges of the
globalisation journey, in an actionable format.
Currently, the programme is organised into operational
entities termed 'clusters'. These are based on
functional areas or common challenges/opportunities
which manifest themselves in the globalisation
journey.
As of today, the following three clusters are
operational:
Each of these clusters, led by an anchor company,
will co-evolve the set of services that will be
of common interest to the cluster members and
will be responsible for achieving their objectives.
